[Ben Garren] My education I think gave me a great foundation in the practice of law, but also the way it really developed the way I approach problems — critical thinking, developing creative solutions. Also, I think the law school instilled in me values of ethics and professionalism and also the obligation to give back to our communities with pro bono and community service. And those have been touchstones for me throughout my career.

As appreciative as I am for the legal foundation that I received while I was at the law school, equally valuable are the relationships I made while I was there. I had my 30th reunion just last year. And I mean, it’s just great to reconnect with classmates and old friends. And even though we went different ways geographically or even in our careers, those bonds continue to be some of the strongest in terms of my friendships to this day.
